Cappa Stone Wines
Cappa Stone Wines Sauvignon Blanc

2016 Adeliade Hills Sauvignon Blanc

The History

The winery is named after a mountain in a Calabrian mountain range in Southern Italy, called Petra Cappa. In this mountain range their Italian grandparents fled for their lives in the war. It is a symbol of life, fulfilment and opportunity that they want to bring into the winery and the wines.

These grapes were harvested in the cool of the night from the Adelaide Hills, 400m above sea level. Fermented cool to retain the flavours found in this vineyard.

Three months on light lees, stirring occurred to give the wine a creamy middle palate and help balance the fresh and crisp acid.

Tasting Note

This Adelaide Hills Sauvignon blanc has aromas and flavours of snow pea, honey dew melon and tropical fruits. It finishes with passionfruit and citrus peel. The creaminess from yeast lees stirring gives an elegant and rounded mouthfeel

The elegance of the natural acid from this cool year and the layering of flavours allows you to drink the wine on its own or with a perfectly matched meal.
