Cappa Stone Wines Moscato

2016 Moscato

The History

The winery is named after a mountain in a Calabrian mountain range in Southern Italy. In this mountain range their Italian grandparents fled for their lives in the war. It is a symbol of life, fulfilment and opportunity that they want to bring into this brand and into the wines that are made for all to enjoy.

These grapes were harvested in the cool of the night from the vineyard once the fruit had reached its optimum flavour level. They were then crushed and pressed in a tank press. The juice was then cold fermented to slowly achieve the desired alcohol with balanced flavours. Once this was achieved the wine was chilled to hold the alcohol at this point along with it’s natural frizzante (light natural bubbles). It was then clarified and bottled immediately.

Tasting Note

This aromatic and elegant Moscato is made from the grape variety White Frontignac which is from the Muscat family. Commonly known as Muscat a’ Petits grains.

With aromas of musk candy and rose petals the wine finishes with a great length and depth of flavour. The wine has a balanced fresh and racy sweetness. With the mild frizzante it becomes a very elegant wine.
